Food Services

A clean and sanitary food service establishment is critical. Arrow Chemical Products has an extensive line of cleaning products specifically for the food services, food handling and food processing industries including 3 compartment sinks, warewash, food-grade sanitizers, floor cleaners, degreasers and more.

Start with the Basics: Mandatory Products for ALL Food Service Establishments

Dish Soap – Every food service establishment must have hand dishwashing detergent.  If they wash dishes using a machine they still must have a backup in place to wash dishes like Arrow Chemical Products' #162 - Sunshine with Lemon Burst or #160 - Jem Hand DishWash.

Sanitizer/Bleach – Must have a health department acceptable means to sanitize dishes and food contact surfaces.  Product must not be rinsed, must be EPA registered and must validate sanitizing claims with appropriate test papers.
Arrow Sanitizer #150- This concentrate makes 512 gallons of ready to use solution.
Arrow Sani-Spray #151 – Ready to use, food contact surface sanitizer.
Bleach – Must be EPA registered.  Concentrate.

Test Papers – Must have correct test papers to measure available sanitizing solution in parts per million (ppm).  QT-10 test papers are needed for quaternary ammonia type sanitizers such as products 150 and 151.  Quat sanitizing solutions must test to 200 ppm to meet state health department regulations.   Chlorine test papers are used to measure bleach solutions.  Bleach solutions must test to 50-100 ppm of chlorine to meet state regulations.  Testing should be done on a regular basis to insure prescribed strengths.

Degreaser/All Purpose Cleaner - Must provide clean, sanitary conditions.  Deep clean walls, floors, equipment, appliances, food storage areas, ovens, hoods, exhaust fans, etc.  USDA/NSF registered products such as:
Heavy Duty Degreaser #234, 900 Degreaser #600 or Citrus Degreaser #248.

Hand Soap: Must provide hand soap for both employees and customers. Proper signage.
Foamy Soap #353 or Aro-Cide Antibacterial #350.

The above list is necessary for ALL food service establishments without exception. By law, every establishment must have material safety data sheets available to all employees.  All cleaning solutions must be in a properly identified container.

Note:  this checklist represents a simple solution to help restaurants comply with state/federal regulations with respect to cleaning products.  It is in no way a complete list of product options but rather a sample of product options available. To see more options, visit Food Service & Kitchen Products
